This morning while on the way to office, we listened to Lite Breakfast on Lite.fm as usual and heard this story.
"A policeman was driving at 2 am in winter (below 10 degrees) when he saw a young man walking down the street. He stopped and asked the young man to get into his car. After asking where the young man lives, the policeman asked why he was walking down the street in cold chilly night. The young man told him that he was from work which required him to walk about 8 km everyday to reach home, and that he got no choice because he need money to pay rents, tuition fees and so on.
The policeman dropped the young man at his apartment and drove away. But the story did not end there. The next morning he went again to the young man and gave him 20 bucks and said, "You'll be walking down the cold night again tonight so please take a cab." The young man was so overwhelmed by the kindness given to him. Perhaps the policeman was once in that situation also, so he knows the struggles and difficulties.
But there's more to the story. After giving him the 20 bucks, the policeman felt that he still has not done enough so he started a fund to get 5k for the young man to buy a car. In the end he only managed to raise about 1.5k, but that was more than enough for the struggling young man."
And this story was based on true events. :)
Humanity restored.
